Awning Window:
Hinged on the top to open outwards.
Bay/Bow:

Bay CasementBay
A composite of three windows (double hung, casement or fixed), usually made up of a large center fixed unit and two flanking units at 30 or 45 degree angles to the wall.

Bow: Similar to Bay, but made up of 3 - 5 equal sized windows angled at 10 degrees. More suitable for wider openings.

Casement:

A window hinged on the side to open outwards, can be higed left or right.

Casement Combinations On this site, refers to casement windows on both sides of a fixed center panel

Double Casement: Two adjoining casements that come as one unit.

DH:Double hung:

Double-hung
A window unit that has two operable sashes which move vertically in the frame.

French Door:

French
A door with wider panel members around the glass.May be hinged or sliding.

Full Casement: A single casement unit.

Half Circle: A fixed window of that shape.

Hexagon: Six sided fixed.

NFD:

Net frame dimensions. The window should be ordered 1/4" to 1/2" less in width and height than the "rough opening" dimensions (the dimensions of the opening into which the window must fit).

O: A fixed sash or a picture window.

Octagon:

Eight sided fixed.

OpenSegmented:

OX: Two sash horizontal slider in which (viewed from the outside) the left sash is fixed, and the right slides.

Non-venting or non-operable window. Also know as a fixed window.

Quarter Circle: A fixed window of that shape.

ROpen: (rough opening) The size of the opening into which the new window must fit. This opening will be a little larger (1/4 to 1/2")than NFD (the net frame dimension) of the new window itself.

SHOSH:

A 3 panel window, single-hung sides and fixed center sash.

SH:

Single-hung
A double-hung type of window in which the top sash is fixed or inoperable.

Trapezoid:

Triangle;

XO:Two sash horizontal slider in which (viewed from the outside) the left sash slides and the right is fixed.

XOX:

XOX A three panel horizontal slider with sliding sashes on left and right, and a center fixed sash.

XX: A two sash horizontal slider in which both sashes slide

Shapes are presented as viewed from the outside, and "left/right" side means that side as viewed from the outside
